My Town PORTO - PORTUGAL

New
Restaurant l'Fresco it is located in Av.Boavista in a beautiful builing and decoration. The food is good and well presented, although the menu does not present any new concepts or techniques. Worth visit for a good wine list.

New BB Gourmet from same owner of Bull & Bear chef Miguel Castro Silva, is located in Rua Antonio Cardoso and offers excelent lunch options as well as a gourmet store.

New Chocol@te Brown and Gold is a lovely new shop in Aviz. Great selection of teas and chocolates.

Al Forno My favorite is still the cosy 30sqm in a narrow cobalt street in Foz. It has just open another tasteful Al Forno Baixa in Rua Rodrigues Sampaio.
D'Oliva has also that NY look of the big open spaces with a good combination of italian and portuguese cuisine.

Sessenta Setenta is a cosmopolitan restaurant set on one of the hills over looking the Douro River. They have a new menu from March 08. I have already tried some of the new gourmet proposals and can recommend the sea-bass on sabayon and aspargus.

Cafeina keeps the essence of fashionable Porto with great simple food and fantastic atmosphere. For a good combination of food, music and atmosphere this is still a great place to go.

For japanese the Zen House have a great Tapaniaky table where you can taste a fantastic grilled Fois Gras.

For informal dinner I love going to the small fishing restaurants near the port in Matosinhos - most of them grill their fab sardines outside , I like O Filipe for their sea flavours in special the sea-bass on a salt crust.
